O gerenciador de login não aparece após a edição de / etc / X11 / default-display-manager

Eu tenho o Ubuntu 11.10, e eu instalei o kde e eu escolhi o kdm erroneamente, como mencionado aqui Eu fiz este procedimento

Pretty simple. Open the file /etc/X11/default-display-manager with your editor of choice. Make sure you invoke that editor as root, otherwise it won't work. In that file there's a single line: /usr/bin/kdm Change that to /usr/bin/gdm and save the file. Reboot and you're in Gnome.

agora, após a inicialização, o gerenciador de login gdm or kdm não apareceu.

Alterei o conteúdo de /etc/X11/default-display-manager para o conteúdo antigo ( /usr/bin/gdm ) e o gerente de login apareceu.
