Falha de segmentação ao atualizar repositórios [duplicado]

Quando eu corro

sudo apt update

Eu recebo uma falha de segmentação com este erro:

Como posso corrigir isso?

Estou usando o Ubuntu GNOME 16.04

Minha resolução final foi remover todo o sistema e instalar de volta. Eu até tentei uma reconfiguração de apt usando dpkg mas não funcionou.
