Como configuro um monitor USB displaylink?

Eu tenho visto muitas peças, mas não um guia completo para consertar o que deve ser um problema muito comum, particularmente no Ubuntu 11.10, onde não há nenhum arquivo xorg.conf. Existe um fácil como-para algum lugar (para iniciantes Linux como eu) para fazer isso. As outras peças que vi exigem uma boa quantidade de capacidade do Linux para fazê-las funcionar. Melhor ainda seria fazer com que o Ubuntu detectasse automaticamente esses tipos de monitores.

Eu tenho uma tela verde e os drivers instalados. Eu simplesmente não consigo ver uma foto no meu monitor USB Doublesight. Qualquer ajuda seria apreciada.

Isso pode ajudar você a seguir em frente.

Monitor Doubledight DS-90U da Displaylink funcionando

1) Instale as dependências necessárias para construir o servidor X do displaylink ...

apt-get install xinit xserver-xorg xserver-xorg-dev xfonts-base libusb-dev xorg-dev git-core build-essential

2) Fonte baixada e corrigida para xserver-xorg-video-displaylink de Launchpad e extraia o código fonte.

tar xvfz xserver-xorg-video-displaylink_0.3.orig.tar.gz
cd xf86-video-displaylink

Edite o src/displaylink.c

#graphical
gedit src/displaylink.c

#command line
nano src/displaylink.c

comente (adicione um # à frente) nas seguintes linhas ...

//#include "xf86Resources.h"
//#include "xf86RAC.h"
//      pScrn->racMemFlags = RAC_FB | RAC_COLORMAP | RAC_CURSOR | RAC_VIEWPORT;
//      pScrn->racIoFlags = RAC_FB | RAC_COLORMAP | RAC_CURSOR | RAC_VIEWPORT;
//      xf86CrtcScreenInit (pScreen);'

3) construir e instalar

./configure && make && make install
sudo cp  /usr/local/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/displaylink_drv.so /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/

4) crie /etc/X11/xorg.conf

5) Conecte o monitor Displaylink em uma porta USB (a tela deve ficar verde)

6) Reinicie ou reinicie o X
