Que pacote devo usar para o modo laptop no Ubuntu?

Eu fiquei perplexo, o repositório do Ubuntu tem dois pacotes conflitantes, laptop-mode-tools e ubuntu-laptop-mode . Não consigo encontrar nenhuma informação sobre as diferenças nesses pacotes, qual é a melhor e até qual é a recomendada. Qual deles devo instalar?

There is a big thread about this on ubuntuforums, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=36976. Ubuntu used to have a rather outdated package for controlling laptop mode, based on the aforementioned kernel documentation script. Laptop mode tools basically is a much more recent version of the same code. Ubuntu has switched to laptop-mode-tools somewhere in 2006.

Estou executando o Ubuntu 9.04, e o laptop-mode-tools é instalado por padrão no meu sistema, não ubuntu-laptop-mode .

Por isso, definitivamente parece que as ferramentas do modo laptop têm mais recursos e podem fazer seu laptop mais bem.

Ferramentas de modo portátil. Se bem me lembro, tem suporte para APM e hdparm. O ubuntu-laptop-mode só tem suporte para hdparm.
