Instala o mplayer no Mac OS X Snow Leopard

Alguém já experimentou instalar o mplayer no Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.3)? Eu fiquei preso por um dia inteiro tentando de tudo, usando o código fonte, baixe o dmg e extraia o binário dentro dele. Mas nenhum funciona.

Editado : Desculpe por não esclarecer esta questão desde o início Randolph Potter me mostrou que o OSX Extended MPlayer funciona. Na verdade, o que eu quero é a versão de linha de comando do mplayer. Eu posso instalá-lo no Mac OS X 10.5.8, mas não no 10.6.3

Eu vou ao site oficial do macports.org e procuro o mplayer dentro das portas disponíveis. Vejo que há dois pacotes: mplayer não pode ser instalado no 10.6.x mas mplayer-devel pode. Eu instalei e consegui fazer toda a operação. Obrigado cara por compartilhar.

Uma alternativa é instalá-lo com o MacPorts, talvez você queira tentar ...

Se você quiser usar o MPlayer a partir da linha de comando sem compilá-lo, varra o pacote do aplicativo MPlayer Extended. Olha o que eu encontrei em

Atualmente, estou usando o MPlayerX do Google Code sem problemas no OSX 10.6.3

EDITAR: Eu li sua edição .... O MPlayerX funciona bem, mas eu não o uso na linha de comando. Não sei se isso pode ser feito, mas duvido.
