Obtendo 4K @ 60Hz via porta de vídeo ATI R9 290 na Panasonic TC65-AX-800U

Oi eu tenho uma placa AMD R9 290, sob o Linux, com o driver proprietário Catalyst 14.50.2; O AMD Card possui apenas HDMI-1.x que não pode fazer 4K a 60Hz, mas possui uma porta de exibição que é capaz de 4K a 60Hz de acordo com o padrão. Eu preciso saber como programar o driver do catalisador para fazer 4K a 60Hz.

Até agora - eu comprei uma tela Panasonic TC-65AX800U 4K que anuncia 4K @ 60Hz quando em "Modo de jogo" sobre a porta de exibição, ou cabo HDMI-2 (que o AMD R290 não tem); e então eu anexei usando a porta de exibição;

Ele faz 4K, mas até agora não a 60Hz, mas apenas entre 24 e 31Hz; e mesmo assim a tela às vezes fica em branco e não diz nenhum sinal, mesmo quando a placa gráfica diz que está emitindo sinal.

A resolução máxima que posso obter em 60Hz é 2560x1440 (display de 3K) e não sou o único a ter esse problema:

Então; Eu estou querendo saber se os dados do EDID são bugs ou se há algo que eu preciso fazer no Xorg.conf para programar uma linha de modo apropriada para fazer o DP fazer o 4K @ 60Hz? Ou é a própria placa AMD que está causando o problema ou o driver?

As informações no Xorg.log, a partir da sondagem Panasonic EDID, mostram um clock de ponto máximo de 305MHz e uma taxa de atualização horizontal de 68Khz; Mas quando eu verificar os manuais, ele diz taxa de atualização horizontal pode ir até 110KHz ... Então - algo não está certo com o EDID ...

Quando eu verifico /var/log/Xorg.log, ele lista modos de vídeo no seguinte formato:

Um exemplo típico é:

Que tem uma taxa de transferência de dados de 297MHz (relógio de ponto). Então, checando a matemática: 297000000/3890 = 76349Hz (76,3kHz) taxa de atualização horizontal e 297000000 / 3890. / 2425. ~ = taxa de atualização vertical de 31.48Hz como previsto.

Mas eu suspeito que isso também significa que o melhor que poderia ser feito usando o dotclock EDID mais rápido relatado, por exemplo: de 305MHz é:

  1. / 3890/2425 = 32Hz, que é patético ... e nem perto de 60Hz.

Eu tentei verificar as configurações da Panasonic para ver o que pode afetá-lo; De acordo com a Panasonic, o modo Game deve estar "ligado", embora não pareça afetar os valores EDID. Mas eu liguei. A configuração chamada "4K Pure" não é mencionada como um requisito para obter 4K @ 60Hz, mas descobri que ela deve ser definida como "OFF" ou a tela rola e não VSYNC corretamente quando inicio o X11 no modo 3840x2160. Mas, por outro lado, os valores EDID não são afetados por isso, então não vejo que seja importante, a menos que seja uma estratégia de compactação de dados para compactação ... tudo o que o menu diz é algo sobre a necessidade de uma verdadeira "4 : 4: 4 "formato para poder ser ligado; mas não que tipo de formato 4: 4: 4, ou qualquer informação sobre o dotclock.

É possível selecionar um modo de codificação de vídeo de menor qualidade no xorg.conf, que RGB de 8 bits por canal, por exemplo: é YCrCb 4: 2: 0 ou 4: 4: 4 de baixa qualidade? e fazendo isso, eu poderia obter mais pixels YCrCb por clock de ponto do que pixels RGB? (ex .: Qual é o Pure 4K 4: 4: 4 que a Panasonic está solicitando?)

Se a Panasonic não pode fazer 4K @ 60Hz, eles estão basicamente fazendo propaganda enganosa ... e eu quero ter certeza de que eliminei qualquer falha do meu lado antes de reclamar, mas não tenho certeza de como descobrir do que é capaz.

Se for possível uma qualidade inferior, como informar o driver do Catalyst 14.50.2 (AKA fglrx) para fazer isso usando o arquivo /etc/X11/xorg.conf?

Alguém já comprou um Panasonic TC65-AX800U para exibir conteúdo 4K a 60Hz, seja com HDMI-2 ou Display-port, em placas gráficas nvidia ou ATI / AMD, e você precisou mudar o Xorg.conf para fazer isso? funciona e qual modo & cabo você tem que usar?
