Aleatório desconecta com um Atheros AR5008

A maior parte da minha rede sem fio funciona perfeitamente. Mas uma vez por dia, em momentos aleatórios, eu me desconecto e a autenticação de porta-chaves para o meu wireless aparece. Todas as informações corretas são inseridas no conjunto de chaves, mas quando eu clico em conectar, não há êxito em reconectar à rede e a janela de autenticação é exibida novamente. A rede está funcionando e este é o único computador afetado. Isso é resolvido reiniciando meu computador, mas é uma máquina de produção, por isso ter que parar o que estou trabalhando e reiniciar fica bastante frustrante.

UPDATE: VLC parece tornar este problema mais frequente. Ele estava ocorrendo apenas uma vez por dia em condições normais, mas quando eu estava executando o VLC ontem, ele caiu várias vezes em um período muito mais curto. Não tenho certeza se isso está relacionado, mas é muito estranho ...

Eu tenho esse problema também, no meu MacBook 2,1. Não há muito o que fazer, mas você pode redefinir o módulo e, pelo menos, funcionará novamente.

sudo sh -c 'rmmod ath9k; restart network-manager; modprobe ath9k'
