Quando tento executar o glxgears ou o ssh em uma máquina e usar o OpenGL com o sinalizador -X, recebo esta mensagem de erro:

Esta é uma nova instalação do Ubuntu e, estranhamente, o driver proprietário da NVIDIA não está listado em Drivers adicionais. As configurações do NVIDIA X Server me dizem
You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run 'nvidia-xconfig' as root), and restart the X server.
Se eu fizer isso, sou recebido com uma tela de 640x480, além dos problemas acima (eu consertei esse problema em particular com o mv /etc/X11/xorg.config.backup /etc/X11/xorg.config )

Você tem um sistema gráfico híbrido Intel / Nvidia. Acredito que isso deve funcionar para que seus gráficos Intel sejam executados.
