Por que esse comando echo não está funcionando?

Desejo substituir /etc/postfix/master.cf pelo meu próprio conteúdo. Estou usando echo "<content>" > /etc/postfix/master.cf para tentar realizar isso.

Mas quando eu faço:

Ao usar strings entre aspas duplas , é preciso ter muito cuidado. Se você quiser evitar algum comportamento especial, por exemplo, ao usar um ponto de exclamação, tente usar cat :
