Notepad ++ localiza e substitui uma string constante

Question

Usando o notepad ++, tenho o seguinte texto.

This little piggy went to market, \cite{smith1774}
This little \cite{ben1864} piggy stayed \cite{mueller2867} home,
This little piggy had roast beef

Eu quero encontrar e remover todos os \cite{..} , então só tenho a canção de ninar

Modo de pesquisa: expressão regular

Localizar: \cite\{[^{]*\}
Substitua: (nada)

Correspondência:

\    - literal backslash
cite  - the word cite
\{    - literal {
[^{]* - any number of any character other than {
\}    - literal }
