Lenovo z480 laptop pendurado depois de algum tempo com o Ubuntu 12.04

Acabei de comprar um novo laptop e tenho boot duplo com Ubuntu 12.04 e Windows 7. Ambos funcionam bem, mas notei que após algum tempo o Ubuntu parou sem erros e todas as teclas e movimentos / cliques do mouse pararam de funcionar .

Alguma ideia de como corrigir esse problema?

Eu queria ver se o Kernel era o culpado (ou um processo no nível do kernel) ou o XServer. Parece que você tem o cartão NVidia com os drivers Nouveau, que são os do OpenSource.

Eu estava usando esses também com um novo NVIDIA 630 no meu HTPC, mas ele estava me dando problemas de congelamento (principalmente no sono retomar desde que eu não tenho integrado para alternar entre). No meu laptop, eu tenho o Optimus com intel integrado (configuração semelhante ao z480 high-end se você adicionou o cartão, o que parece que você fez).

Dito isto, tenho duas soluções que podem funcionar (ou pelo menos limitar a questão). O log do Kernel parece que o que está acontecendo é durante um switch nos estados VGA (provavelmente uma tentativa de ir da Intel - > NVidia ou vice-versa.

Tente o que preferir por um dia ou mais para ver se continua recebendo os congelamentos:

1) Remove all traces of the nouveau drivers and install the official nvidia ones (should be allowed in Ubuntu I believe, just check the Synaptic Package Manager). It could be a fault of the switching, which is relatively new to Linux.

OR

2) In your Bios, disable the NVIDIA card and only allow integrated when you are in Linux (just for testing).

Isso pode ajudá-lo a reduzi-lo a se for o driver ou o cartão (provavelmente o driver). Com ele desativado no Bios, você notará um enorme salto na bateria. Eu fiz no meu Lenovo T530 sob Arch. O Linux está chegando lá com a comutação de gráficos, mas não 100% à prova de falhas neste momento.
