Eu fiz o upgrade para o Chrome 61.0.3163 via ppa no Ubuntu 16.04, mas ele não será iniciado porque o NSS está desatualizado. O lançamento do Chrome no terminal fornece:

NSS >= 3.26 is required. Please upgrade to the latest NSS, and if you still get this error, contact your distribution maintainer.

Rodando

sudo apt-get install libnss3

dá

libnss3 is already the newest version (2:3.21-1ubuntu4)

Devo tentar obter uma nova versão do libnss que não esteja no repositório? Eu fiz downgrade da minha versão do Chrome por enquanto.

Seu computador não está em execução com os repositórios xenial-updates ou xenial-security ativados.

Ative os repositórios (remova o comentário das linhas para esses repositórios) e, em seguida, execute sudo apt-get update e sudo apt-get dist-upgrade e atualize todos os seus pacotes para as versões mais recentes do pacote.
