Esta linha em /etc/default/grub não está correta:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor"

Deve ser dito

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""

E seus parâmetros de inicialização acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor devem ser colocados na linha

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

edite o arquivo:

sudoedit /etc/default/grub

e corrija as duas linhas para que, após a edição, você tenha:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""

Salve o arquivo, saia e execute

sudo update-grub
