Drivers de AMD ATi Radeon HD 6870 não está funcionando

Precisa de ajuda com isso. Eu procurei por algumas horas e não encontrei resposta que funcionasse para mim.

Quando tento instalar meus drivers, recebo

One or more tools required for installation cannot be found on the system. Install the required tools before installing the fglrx driver. Optionally, run the installer with --force option to install without the tools. Forcing install will disable AMD hardware accelleration and may make your system unstable. Not recommended. See /usr/share/ati/fglrx-install.log for more details.

Então eu verifiquei o log e ele me deu

Supported adapter detected. Check if system has the tools required for installation. fglrx installation requires that the system have kernel headers. /lib/modules/3.8.0-6-generic/build/include/linux/version.h cannot be found on this system. One or more tools required for installation cannot be found on the system. Install the required tools before installing the fglrx driver. Ok, primeiro temos que remover todas as suas instalações anteriores.

Na execução do terminal:

sudo sh /usr/share/ati/fglrx-uninstall.sh
sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx fglrx_* fglrx-amdcccle* fglrx-dev*

então

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa 
sudo apt-get update 
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic

agora vá para o painel, abra as fontes de software, acesse a guia de drivers adicionais. Você deve ver o catalisador 13.2 beta 3 driver, ativá-lo.

quando terminar, no termo executar:

sudo amdconfig --initial -f

reinicialize.

Eu não uso drivers fglrx porque eles não são os mesmos que são emitidos pela AMD, e dado que isso é tudo proprietário, então não faz sentido não ir para a fonte ao invés do Xorg.
