Como configurar o Grub para carregar automaticamente o kernel do Xen

Como você configura o Grub para usar automaticamente o kernel Xen no Ubuntu 11.10?

Não importa o que eu faça, carrega o primeiro menuentry. A única maneira de carregá-lo é selecionar manualmente o kernel, o que não posso fazer se tiver que reinicializar o servidor remotamente ou se houver uma falha de energia e a máquina inicializar automaticamente quando a energia for restaurada, etc. me deixando louca.

No meu /boot/grub/grub.cfg, o kernel Xen está no índice 4 (ou seja, é o 5º menuentry). Então eu tentei:

  1. Definindo GRUB_DEFAULT = 4 e executando sudo update-grub
  2. Definindo GRUB_DEFAULT = salvo e GRUB_SAVEDEFAULT = true e executando sudo update-grub
  3. Definindo GRUB_DEFAULT="Ubuntu GNU / Linux, com Xen 4.1-amd64 e Linux 3.0.0-16-server" e executando sudo update-grub

Nada disso funciona. Ele continua a carregar o primeiro menuentry, que é "Ubuntu, com o Linux 3.0.0-16-server".

Por tentativa e erro, descobri que funciona se eu usar o nome do submenu "Xen 4.1-amd64" para GRUB_DEFAULT. Eu ainda não entendo porque usar o nome menuentry não funcionou ...

Tem certeza de que o antigo comando de atualização update-grub não deve ser:

grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
