Estou tentando recuperar dados de um disco sata usando um adaptador sata para usb. O disco estava funcionando bem no meu laptop do Windows até a placa-mãe morrer.
A unidade é detectada corretamente quando eu inserir o plugue usb. Esta é a saída do dmesg:

mas quando eu tento montar as partições (não importa qual) eu recebo um erro:
root@samsung:/mnt# mount -t ntfs /dev/sdc2 old_disk
NTFS signature is missing.
Failed to mount '/dev/sdc2': Invalid argument
The device '/dev/sdc2' doesn't seem to have a valid NTFS.
Maybe the wrong device is used? Or the whole disk instead of a
partition (e.g. /dev/sda, not /dev/sda1)? Or the other way around?
De alguma forma, o NTFS parece estar quebrado em todas as partições. Alguma idéia de como eu poderia recuperar meus dados?
Eu também tentei olhar para o disco com o GParted e ele não reconheceria nenhuma partição na unidade.
Estou usando o Ubuntu 14.04.
