O Git é instalado em uma unidade de rede

Estou usando o Git no trabalho (no Windows 8), mas temos uma variável no AD chamada 'HomeDrive', que é irritantemente definida como uma unidade de rede. O Git decidiu instalar o git bash e outros utilitários aqui, o que é super chato. Eu queria saber se é possível entrar no Git e editar as variáveis $HomeDrive e $HomePath para fazer o Git sair da unidade C. Além disso, peço desculpas se este é o site errado, mas eu não tinha certeza se era SO ou SU
