Como instalar corretamente o leitor de cartões SCR3500 no Mac - Mac OS X 10.6.8?

Estou tentando fazer login em algum site seguro e preciso usar o leitor de cartão SCR3500. Eu encontrei e instalei alguns drivers - link . No entanto isso não funciona. Quando tento abrir o site https, aparece o ssl_error_handshake_failure_alert. Alguma idéia de como fazer isso funcionar?
