Conectado à rede sem fio, mas sem acesso à Internet

Depois de instalar o Ubuntu 12.04 há uma semana, a Internet sem fio estava funcionando bem. Ele parou de funcionar ontem, no entanto, e eu estou em uma perda para o que fazer, mesmo depois de vasculhar respostas a problemas postados semelhantes.

Eu tentei usar o DNS público do Google e desativar as configurações de proxy no Firefox. Eu usei o nm-tool e o lshw para garantir que meu dispositivo sem fio e driver estejam conectados. Se alguém puder me ajudar a resolver este problema, eu ficaria extremamente grato!

Eu tive o mesmo problema com o gerenciador de conexões de rede embutido dizendo que tudo estava bem, e ifconfig relatando os endereços de rede corretos e que a conexão estava funcionando, eu poderia pingar meu laptop do pc, mas não tinha acesso à internet.

No meu caso, foi também ter um gerenciador de rede GUI, o Wicd, que deve ter interceptado a conexão, porque ao habilitar a LAN sem fio através da interface GUI, o acesso à internet voltou.
