Montando um disco da SAN (RHEL 5.9)

O administrador de armazenamento disse-me que colocou uma unidade de 3 TB no meu servidor a partir da SAN e pediram-me para a montar. A única informação que eu sei é que está no LUN 1 e que o disco tem 3 TB.

O Multipath é configurado e tenho unidades QLogic instaladas. Não sei o que fazer agora ... existem tantos discos como posso encontrar o caminho certo para montar? Eu disse ao cara do armazenamento que estou vendo tudo no SAN, mas acabei de receber "não sei Linux" dele. Não sei quais perguntas fazer para descobrir qual disco montar.

Eu nunca tive que fazer algo assim antes, então por favor não me bata. Estou apenas procurando perguntas que perguntem ao administrador de armazenamento e quais comandos encontrar a unidade certa para formatar e montar.

Não use /dev/sd* , pois eles mapeiam apenas para caminhos únicos.

Use /dev/mpath* devices (ou conforme mostrado pela saída de multipath -l ).

A saída multipath -ll mostra que o disco que você deseja usar é /dev/mapper/mpath1

Faça o seu sistema de arquivos nele, formate-o, particione-o ou o que você quiser. Apenas não use os dispositivos /dev/sd* .

os dispositivos que compõem mpath1 representam caminhos únicos para os mesmos discos ( multipathd calcula isso olhando WWID etc). O que significa que todos os sd* discos na saída apontam para o mesmo dispositivo, mas estão usando caminhos diferentes para alcançá-lo. Isto é para redundância e, por vezes, motivos de desempenho.
