logs nginx para syslog - conexão recusada

Eu estou tentando configurar o nginx 1.7.3 para enviar logs para o syslog, mas quando eu esta configuração:

server {
    access_log syslog:server=localhost;
}

isto aparece no log de erros do nginx:

2015/01/15 21:42:47 [error] 16776#0: send() failed (111: Connection refused)
2015/01/15 21:42:48 [error] 16776#0: send() failed (111: Connection refused)
2015/01/15 21:42:50 [error] 16776#0: send() failed (111: Connection refused)

Eu segui o link e tentei um parâmetro diferente especificado lá, mas sem sorte ...

O servidor executa o daemon rsyslogd e outros aplicativos (cron, mysql) registram lá sem nenhum problema.

O nginx está tentando enviar seus logs através de uma porta de rede, mas sua configuração do rsyslog não permite a recepção do syslog.

Você precisará configurar o rsyslog para aceitar mensagens do syslog removendo o comentário da configuração de recepção do syslog UDP ou TCP. O nginx provavelmente é o padrão do UDP, então eu sugiro começar por aí.

Não se esqueça de permitir o syslog por meio de firewalls que você tenha configurado.
