Estamos usando o servidor 12.04, que é uma versão LTS. Tanto quanto eu sei, isso significa que pacotes precisos devem existir até que o suporte termine.
Os erros só começaram a aparecer há cerca de uma semana ou duas. Se isso ajudar, os servidores estarão no Amazon EC2.

Como indicado aqui , tudo o que você precisa fazer é remover us-east-1.ec2 do URL.
sudo sed -i 's/us-east-1\.ec2\.//g' /etc/apt/sources.list
