Update: Falha ao bloquear / var / cache / apt / archives / lock

Estou executando a atualização (12.10 a 13.04) através do terminal e ele fica preso a isso:

Failed to lock /var/cache/apt/archives/lock

O que eu faço? Eu tenho acesso root. Não tenho ideia do que mais tentar além de uma instalação limpa.

Eu tive isso acontecer. É porque você tem um gerenciador de pacotes aberto. Veja se você tem synaptic, ou outro apt aberto, e feche-o. Além disso, se você tiver o gerenciador de atualização GUI em execução ao mesmo tempo, ocorrerá o mesmo erro.
