O Exchange não fará login no host inteligente

Question

Meu servidor do Exchange 2010 está configurado para retransmitir mensagens para um host inteligente. A autenticação básica é necessária em relação ao TLS. Por algum motivo, o Exchange não se sente como fazer login.

Eu vejo a seguinte mensagem de erro no Visualizador de Filas:

451 4.4.0 Primary target IP address responded with: "451 5.7.3 Require basic authentication." Attempted failover to alternate host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate hosts, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts.

e o seguinte no log de protocolo do Exchange SmtpSend:

Parece não haver nada de errado no host inteligente - o Exchange simplesmente não está tentando autenticar.

RFC4954 diz:

To ensure interoperability, client and server implementations of this extension MUST implement the [PLAIN] SASL mechanism running over TLS [TLS] [SMTP-TLS].

Apesar desse requisito, o Exchange 2010 não oferece suporte ao método de autenticação PLAIN - o host inteligente deve ser configurado para oferecer suporte ao mecanismo de autenticação LOGIN (que não é formalmente documentado).
