Atualizar erro offline do gerente

Question

Estou executando o Ubuntu 14.04, usando o gerenciador de janelas do i3. Estou tendo problemas com o Software e as Atualizações do meu sistema. Quando eu começo o update-manager eu recebo esta tela:

A internet está funcionando quando vejo isso, não estou usando um proxy.

Depois de selecionar ok (canto inferior direito), vejo isto:

Selecione install now (do canto inferior direito), que apenas fecha a tela. Eu em seguida, execute sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade -y apenas por medida e em seguida, reinicie o computador. Isso não fez diferença.

Não consigo selecionar nenhum desses botões de rádio ou, pelo menos, se eu selecionar um deles não fica selecionado.

A partir da esquerda (Ubuntu Software) é isso que eu tenho, não consigo selecionar qualquer um dos botões de opção que estão nestas páginas:

Depois de selecionar 'fechar' na janela anterior, EU, POR VEZ, a seguinte mensagem:

Depois de pressionar recarregar, recebo esta mensagem de erro (mais uma vez, minha rede está bem enquanto recebo isso)

Depois de fechar essa tela, recebo o gerenciador de atualização que mostra o seguinte:

Não sei por que isso é uma opção quando os outros não são.

Eu exibi imagens da GUI porque não tenho certeza de como isso se encaixa no apt-get e tal, mas estou feliz em utilizar qualquer método CLI.

Eu fiz o login com o Unity em vez do i3, o que me permitiu instalar alguns coisas usando o gerenciador de atualização, bem como alterar a opção do Universo pacotes (porque ele solicitou uma senha, enquanto isso não aconteceu no i3, então os privilégios não estavam corretos).

No entanto, ainda recebo o erro Check you internet connection quando carrego o Gerenciador de atualizações (de dentro do Unity).

Todas as fontes estão comentadas. Remova o "#" na frente das entradas começando com "deb" no seu sources.list.
