Não é possível acessar os hosts locais pelo nome, mas pode pelo endereço IP

Sou novo no Ubuntu e iniciante em redes. Não consigo acessar os hosts na rede local pelo nome do meu servidor 13.10 (sem GUI) recém-instalado.  Não está configurado como um servidor DHCP. Eu uso um Netgear R6300v2 para o servidor DHCP.

Eu posso SSH para o servidor pelo nome (unix3) do Winpro7 (192.163.1.3) da sessão SSH: Posso pingar para o Google.com Eu não posso pingar para o WinPro7 Eu posso pingar para 192.168.1.3 (WinPro7) dhclient está em execução ifconfig parece ser bom?

  1. Instale o Winbind

    sudo apt-get install winbind
    
  2. Adicione o WINS para hospedar a configuração de resolução

    sudo nano /etc/nsswitch.conf
    

    Adicione wins à linha de hosts, por exemplo:

    hosts:     files wins dns myhostname mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] mdns4

Otherway usando o Avahi

  1. Instale a ferramenta de configuração Avahi DNS na máquina Ubuntu

    sudo apt-get install avahi-dnsconfd
    
  2. Instale o Apple Bonjour na máquina Windows

Agora, verifique ping WinPro7.local

Abra o Terminal:

sudo -H gedit /etc/hosts

adicione 192.168.1.3 WinPro7

para que seu computador saiba que esse é o IP desse nome de host
