O que são o Kworker e o SignalSender?

O que são o Kworker e o SignalSender e por que eles estão utilizando tanto CPU? As estatísticas do Powertop deram esses números. Como posso otimizar isso?

Parece estar relacionado ao Chromium e ao Google Chrome de acordo com este problema . Parece ter sido corrigido no Cromo 14.0.817. Não tenho certeza de quando chegará ao Google Chrome.
