Configurações do Linux Mint alteradas automaticamente

As configurações para o meu sistema operacional Linux mint mudaram de alguma forma automaticamente. O papel de parede mudou para o plano de fundo padrão, as configurações do mouse e do touchpad são diferentes, e também não consigo ver o ícone 'Computador' na minha área de trabalho. Eu tentei reiniciar algumas vezes e, em algumas reinicializações, vi essa mensagem:

Eu tive um problema semelhante. Eu consertei que ele fosse reinstalar o KDE e remover o GNOME do terminal, então acabei com o KDE em suas configurações originais. Outra opção é tentar fazer algumas alterações no arquivo de configuração em uma pasta temporária.
