Falha no apt-get update: As seguintes assinaturas eram inválidas

Muito recentemente, quando eu estava tentando verificar se há atualizações no meu laptop (Ubuntu 12.04), a verificação falha.

sudo apt-get update :

Depois de um pouco mais de pesquisa eu encontrei a solução .

Remover / Renomear os arquivos associados aos erros:

cd /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/
sudo mv us.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise_main_i18n_Index main_COPY
sudo mv us.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise_multiverse_i18n_Index multi_COPY
sudo mv us.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise_restricted_i18n_Index res_COPY
sudo mv us.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise_universe_i18n_Index uni_COPY

Atualize a assinatura:

gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 40976EAF437D05B5

Reconstrua o cache do software:

cd /var/lib/apt
sudo mv lists lists.old
sudo mkdir -p lists/partial
sudo apt-get update

Provavelmente, é possível pular o primeiro passo simplesmente movendo as listas, mas achei melhor descrever todo o processo que usei para remover os erros.

Espero que isso ajude alguém a ter esse problema.

Tente importar uma nova chave:

gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 40976EAF437D05B5
gpg --export --armor 40976EAF437D05B5 | sudo apt-key add -
