Estou usando o Semplice Linux no VMware no Windows 7. Ele funciona bem, mas não consigo instalar o Firefox.
O Semplice Linux é baseado no Debian Sid (branch instável) com um desktop Openbox.
Isso é o que eu recebo

Como uma solução temporária e limitada para usar o Firefox sem a instalação adequada:

Baixou o pacote do Firefox
Desembale-o. Agora o Firefox pode ser lançado a partir daí.
A criação de um arquivo Firefox.desktop em /usr/share/applications adicionaria isso às entradas do menu.
O ppa não "sabe" sobre o Semplice. Se for similar o suficiente para o Debian sid, tente adicionar o ppa manualmente em /etc/apt/sources.list :
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mozilla-daily/ppa/ubuntu unstable main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mozilla-daily/ppa/ubuntu unstable main
