Problemas com a instalação do Debian Wheezy

Question

Eu instalei recentemente o Debian Wheezy 7.6 no meu laptop, que tem placa de vídeo nVidia de 4GB. Por padrão, no login, ele é inicializado no modo clássico do gnome e relata "o gnome 3 falhou ao carregar" . Além disso, às vezes, o ponteiro do mouse não é consistente (fica invisível ao rolar e clicar).

Eu não tenho ideia do que são. Eu pesquisei e não consigo encontrar uma solução para isso. Foi devido a minha placa gráfica? Se sim, como posso resolvê-los?

ATUALIZAÇÃO: Eu realmente não quero o gnome-3, mas o modo clássico. Portanto, é suficiente que o modo clássico seja perfeito.

A atualização do kernel resolveu os problemas com os ponteiros do mouse, que estão disponíveis usando os backports ofegantes. Adicione o repo de backports ao seu /etc/apt/sources.list e forneça os seguintes comandos:

#login as root
su
#update packages
apt-get update
#install through backports
apt-get -t wheezy-backports install linux-image-3.16-0.bpo.3-amd64  firmware-linux-free

Mas, o gnome 3 não funcionou e eu não me importo. O fallback do gnome funciona perfeito agora, exceto algumas renderizações de ícones feias no painel.
