EDIT 2: Parece que eu tenho que rebaixar para uma versão mais antiga dos utilitários do view core, no entanto, não tenho certeza se é uma idéia segura.
Eu não tenho uma instalação Mint, então esta é apenas uma suposição, espero que ajude ... Nos sistemas mais recentes do Ubuntu (e derivados), o ia32-libs é obsoleto.
Talvez você possa resolver seu problema emitindo
sudo apt-get install libc6:i386 libgcc1:i386 gcc-4.6-base:i386 libstdc++5:i386 libstdc++6:i386
