Depois de instalar o Ubuntu 12.10 neste computador, eu instalei o driver proprietário da NVIDIA, já que eu poderia querer jogar alguns jogos. Logo comecei a ter problemas com vídeo e áudio. Eu estaria assistindo a um vídeo no YouTube, e frequentemente "gaguejaria", isto é, repetiria os últimos segundos de áudio ou pularia alguns segundos. O mesmo aconteceu enquanto ouvia alguma música, tanto do Rhythmbox quanto do Banshee.
Eu inicializei o Ubuntu 13.04 a partir de um pendrive e notei que o áudio e o vídeo corriam bem. Eu atribuí isso a melhorias nos pacotes desde a versão 12.10 e instalei o 13.04 na máquina. Eu instalei o pacote nvidia-current logo após a inicialização no sistema e os problemas persistiram. nvidia-current-upgrades , nvidia-experimental e outros pacotes tiveram o mesmo problema.
Pensei então que meus problemas poderiam estar relacionados ao driver em uso, já que o LiveCD usa o nouveau. Em seguida, substituí nvidia-current por nouveau e voilà , tudo funciona bem.
A minha pergunta é: existe algum ajuste necessário para que o driver proprietário funcione sem problemas com a GeForce 8600M GT? Eu quero ser capaz de jogar jogos e o driver da NVIDIA tem melhor suporte de aceleração 3D, pelo que eu li.
