Dispositivo GSM indisponível no NetworkManager

Eu tenho tentado nos últimos dias configurar uma conexão GSM na minha nova caixa Ubuntu. No entanto, parece que não consigo obter o Network Manager para gerenciá-lo corretamente. A caixa é um compulab fitlet2 e o cartão de celular é um simcom 7100A.

mas recebo este erro

Eu não posso dizer ao nmcli para configurar o dispositivo também

Da linha "Status | bloqueio: 'sim-pin2'" parece que o cartão precisa de PIN antes de iniciar a conexão.

Eu tive um problema semelhante, mas minha mensagem de mmcli -m 0 foi "sim em falta" - explicou bem todos os meus problemas com "dispositivo indisponível". O SIM estava no lugar, mas houve uma falha de contato ...
