Dependências estranhas ao instalar o Java 6 da Oracle para o Debian Lenny [duplicado]

Tentando instalar o Oracle Java 6 SDK no Debian Lenny. Eu baixei o arquivo rpm. Depois de executar o comando

rpm -ivh jdk-6u45-linux-i586.rpm sun-javadb-core-10.6.2-1.1.i386.rpm sun-javadb-demo-10.6.2-1.1.i386.rpm sun-javadb-docs-10.6.2-1.1.i386.rpm sun-javadb-javadoc-10.6.2-1.1.i386.rpm sun-javadb-client-10.6.2-1.1.i386.rpm

Por que eu tenho dependências tão estranhas? Por exemplo

/bin/ls is needed by jdk-1.6.0_45-fcs.i586

Eu definitivamente tenho o comando ls no meu sistema porque a instalação Java reclama?

Você não pode (facilmente) instalar um RPM no Debian. O Debian usa dpkg ; O RPM tem seu próprio banco de dados de pacotes e não sabe sobre nada que você tenha instalado no Debian. rpm está disponível no Debian, mas isso é principalmente para manipular pacotes RPM, não para instalá-los.

Para Java em particular, você deve usar java-package para converter o instalador .bin que você pode baixar do Oracle; veja minha resposta à sua pergunta anterior .
