Não é possível imprimir em impressora em rede após a instalação recente do Ubuntu 12.04 - 64 bits [fechado]

Histórico:

Eu tenho um servidor executando o ClearOS, operando como meu servidor de impressão (entre outros serviços). Quando eu estava usando o Ubuntu 10.04, eu consegui imprimir bem. Fast forward, eu atualizei para o Ubuntu 12,04 64 Bit através de uma nova instalação, e agora, quando eu sigo o assistente para configurar uma impressora IPP, meus documentos não serão impressos (embora eles trabalhem de outros clientes bem). Alguma idéia?

Eu tenho um problema semelhante Não consigo imprimir a partir do Ubuntu 12.04 para uma impressora do Windows conectada via Samba. Isso funcionou bem no Ubuntu 11.10.

A coisa que eu não entendo é que não há nenhuma mensagem de erro "real", pois diz, por exemplo, "Send-Document successful-ok". Até mesmo a autenticação do usuário funciona bem.

(esqueça, eu vi mais tarde no seu relatório de bug que ele também falha com a arquitetura x86)

Supondo que sua instalação do Ubuntu 10.04 tenha 32 bits, seu driver provavelmente precisará de alguma dependência de biblioteca de 32 bits. As várias impressoras Brother (HL-4070, HL-3040 e HL-4150) que usei com o Ubuntu tiveram um problema, o CUPS relataria o sucesso mas a impressora não faria nada.
