Espaço em disco cheio ao fazer a operação do apt-get no Ubuntu 14.04

Im Tentando instalar novo software no meu Ubuntu 14.04, que está sendo executado

    uname -r
3.13.0-45-generic

Existem kernals antigos instalados na minha máquina

Quando eu estou tentando Purge-los usando o comando abaixo

e se eu correr forçar a instalação, ele está dizendo que não há espaço no dispositivo ..

Como posso criar espaço no meu Ubuntu para que eu possa instalar novos aplicativos nele?

Tente remover algumas imagens antigas do kernel (e linux-headers-3.13.0-24-generic correspondente) com dpkg diretamente:

dpkg -r linux-image-3.13.0-24-generic linux-headers-3.13.0-24-generic

IIRC isso deve funcionar. Se ainda estiver reclamando sobre dependências e tiver certeza sobre a versão que está desinstalando, adicione --force-depends

Eu encontrei muito em /var/cache .

(Após uma tentativa frustrada de instalar o java 8 do ppa)

BTW, movi a pasta /var/cache/oracle-jdk8-installer para /media/flash_ext3/var/cache (onde flash_ext3 é o nome de um pen drive 32G formatado para usar ext3) e criei um link:

cd /var/cache
sudo ln -s /media/flash_ext3/var/cache/oracle-jdk8-installer oracle-jdk8-installer

(e fez um chmod a+rwx )
