Estou usando o Ubuntu 12.04, comprei recentemente um adaptador USB para Ethernet.
O comando dmesg mostra o modelo como "Davicom DM9601 USB Ethernet". Não consigo usar o ethtool para modificar suas configurações.

Quando tento alterar a velocidade do adaptador para 10Mbps, obtenho
jesin@localhost:~$ sudo ethtool -s eth1 speed 10
Cannot advertise speed 10
Eu não consigo nem mudar o tipo de porta

Cannot set new settings: Invalid argument
not setting port
O que está causando esse problema?
