Eu resolvi esse problema em dois laptops que executam o Ubuntu 14.04.1 fazendo o seguinte:

  • Inicie o Synaptic.
  • Pesquise "Mono", sem aspas.
  • Reinstale todos os pacotes já instalados na lista encontrada.
  • Executar no terminal: apt-get update; apt-get upgrade
