Eu atualizei o kernel de 13.13 para 13.15, mas isso não mudou nada.

Depois de mais algumas pesquisas, encontrei uma solução descrita em este tópico em alemão.

Você precisa adicionar i8042.reset i8042.nomux i8042.nopnp i8042.noloop às opções de inicialização do kernel. Você pode fazer isso permanentemente adicionando esses argumentos ao atributo GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT no arquivo /etc/default/grub .

Então parece com isso.

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i8042.reset i8042.nomux i8042.nopnp i8042.noloop"

Depois disso, você só precisa digitar este comando e reiniciar:

sudo update-grub
