Problemas ao instalar o pacote PECL do libevent PHP

Na minha máquina de desenvolvimento Ubuntu 11.04 eu tenho o PHP instalado (via aptitude).

Eu quero experimentar a extensão PHP do libevent mas não consigo está funcionando:

Alguém sabe como instalar o php-libevent sem precisar recompilar o PHP?

Tente instalar o pacote libevent-dev

sudo apt-get install libevent-dev
