A maneira mais simples de resolver isso é obter a saída uname para o tipo de máquina.

uname -M

e, em seguida, pesquise na Web para descobrir o que é esse dispositivo.

Ou você pode conseguir isso e muito mais com o AIX,

A arquitetura do sistema é consultada usando:

uname -p

A página man tem mais detalhes no caso de você querer informações diferentes do que apenas a arquitetura da CPU.
