UseDNS no
e isso interrompeu a pesquisa inversa de DNS e aliviou o problema. Eu não tenho certeza se esta é a maneira correta de lidar com o problema, mas ele fez o trabalho.
Usando o Mac OSX 10.6.4. Eu estou tentando ssh no mesmo computador que estou usando. O nome do meu computador é simplesmente MacBookPro. A versão curta é que quando eu ssh para minha máquina usando seu endereço IP, ele faz uma pausa por cerca de 40 segundos e depois me deixa entrar.
Eu criei uma chave ssh usando o seguinte método:
ssh-keygen -t dsa -P '' -f ~/.ssh/id_dsa
cat ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
ssh'ing na minha máquina por ssh localhost ou ssh MacBookPro.local funciona muito bem. É quando eu tento e ssh para minha máquina usando o endereço ip eu recebo a pausa.

192.168.1.118 tem uma entrada válida em / etc / hosts
O sshd está fazendo uma pesquisa de DNS reverso, e os dois servidores de nomes para 192.168.1.118 estão expirando, ponto no qual o sshd permite a conexão.
