PHP Modo de Segurança / open_basedir - lstat performance problem

Question

PHP mostre o caminho completo muitas vezes antes de ler o arquivo que está procurando. E isso acontece quando na configuração do httpd do apache é especificado PHP_ADMIN_VALUE configuração open_basedir ou se o safe_mode é ON .

Se eu tiver um site simples com apenas a página phpinfo.php e dentro, temos apenas "".

Considere que temos a versão mais recente do httpd (2.2.15) e do PHP (5.2.13 ou 5.3.2).

Se especificarmos safe_mode = on ou PHP_ADMIN_VALUE open_basedir na configuração do host virtual:

Alguém pode me explicar por que o PHP tem esse comportamento?

O cache do Realpath é desativado se safe_mode ou open_basedir estiverem definidos . Isso reduz drasticamente o desempenho do PHP Engine e esse comportamento pode trazer servidor de joelhos. Especialmente porque há falta de documentação!

Olhando o código fonte main / main.c do mecanismo PHP 5.2.13 você pode ver:
