Questões SSL do Debian Apache2 - Código de erro: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long

Estou configurando o apache no Debian lenny e tendo problemas com o SSL. Eu já passei por tutoriais numerosos e trabalhei com o Ubuntu, mas na minha vida não consigo chegar a lugar algum com o Debian. A porta 80 (http) funciona bem, mas a porta 443 (https) me fornece o seguinte erro (no firefox) - homeserver é meu nome de host e meu dhcp ip atribuído é 192.168.1.109. Tenho a sensação de que é algo com a minha configuração e não com a geração de certificados / chaves.

An error occurred during a connection to homeserver.

SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.

(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)

Alguém vê algum problema com os seguintes arquivos de configuração?

Esqueci de ativar o mod ssl .. ainda novo neste material linux / apache. este comando fez o truque:

sudo a2enmod ssl
