ERRO: falha ao criar extensão nativa gem no Arch (postgresql)

Question

Não consigo instalar gem pg no Arch devido ao erro:

mesmo assim, instalei sudo pacman -S libmariadbclient . Eu tive esse erro no Ubuntu, mas lá eu consegui resolvê-lo pela biblioteca pgdev (não me lembro exatamente). O fato é que essa biblioteca não existe para arquear em seu repositório ou é chamada de forma diferente.

Como mencionado por @ Craig Ringer , procure pelo pacote que contém "libpq-fe.h". Eu uso o pkgfile para isso:

pacman -S pkgfile
pkgfile --update
pkgfile --search libpq-fe.h

Que retorna "postgresql-libs". Instale esse pacote, como mencionado por @ inn0kenty.

Acabei de ter o mesmo problema e resolvi usando essas etapas. Espero que ajude outras pessoas no futuro.
