Debian 7 - Startx falha ao iniciar o sistema

Question

Quando inicializo no segundo gerenciador de inicialização primário, chego ao console baseado em texto para inicializar quando digito 'startx'. A tela carrega e fica preta por 10 segundos. Então, quando ele carrega uma tela branca aparece com um monitor de computador uma cara triste nele. Sob ele, diz

"Oh no! Something has gone wrong"
A problem has occurred and the system can't recover. Please log out and try again

Quando clico no botão de logout no console, ele informa os erros da seguinte forma:

Alguém sabe como eu posso inicializar com sucesso no meu sistema operacional com o startx e evitar esses erros?
