O que aconteceu com o VLC. Eu acho que atualizou quando o kernel fez recentemente e agora não pode abrir nada:

Eu tentei a desinstalação usual do vlc aka sudo apt-get remove vlc --purge . E quando eu reinstalar ainda falha. Eu também adicionei o seu ppa de aqui .
Eu fiquei sem ideias. Alguma coisa que eu não tentei?
